Part 3
"We've had two years of Covid restrictions. Our lives have been turned upside down, our livelihoods are being restricted, our kids have lost months, maybe years of their educations. People say, "Follow the science," and we see the omicron variant waning. Most of us now have either natural or vaccinated immunity. So what is your road map for getting government off our backs and letting us get back to normal?"
The steady implementation of these stifling government rules could not take place without a compliant and complicit mass media. The mainstream media, the mouthpiece of the elites, which used to aggressively question government mandates has largely become compliant to those mandates.
Specially in the western side of the world, the media platforms have to a great extent become willing accomplices of despotic governments. Mainstream and electronic media
staff and correspondents are made of liberally educated young staff which believe that government bureaucrats know what is best for the citizens and that it's their duty to serve as spokesmen for those in control.
Social media giants also play their role. By "deleting" those who dare to defy the official line on Covid, mask and vaccine mandates, and other government edicts, Facebook, Google and Twitter not only promote the official line, but demonize and silence those who dare to express other views.
Europe has become the "ground zero" for government control. It seems that most of the countries in The European Union are the focal point of the movement toward greater governmental control. In actual fact, these nations were at the forefront of these pandemic restrictions, and continue to maintain some of the most stringent restrictions in spite of evidence that the disease is now largely a non-factor throughout much of the world.
Through many blogs, for a long time, I have been saying foretelling that European nations will ultimately coalesce into a political, military and economic superpower under a powerful leader.
The Bible, which reveals the broad outline of history for those willing to study it with an open mind, reveals this awesome development in the books of Daniel and Revelation. This end-time government, which will include leaders of a number of nations or groups of nations, will wield great control over the lives of its citizens. A major part of this control will be over the ability to hold jobs, own property and conduct everyday business such as buying food or fuel.
We appear to be experiencing a foretaste of that in governments increasingly restricting their people with ever more stringent regulations along with growth in technological surveillance. Far worse restrictions and controls are yet to come!
The battle that is so heavily raging right now is not a battle of flesh and blood. Our war is not against men and women, even though we see men and women carrying out the plans of the enemy.
The people carrying this out are pawns of the enemy; humans who have largely given themselves over to evil, sacrificing their souls for wealth and power. Their sins have consumed them, and God has given them over to their depravity, leaving them to their own devices.
When one takes an honest look at the facts of the "new" morality, it is evident that our choice of human reason over revelation has led to failure.
Wake up people!
In this "winter of despair", where can we find a "spring of hope"?
I n his famous A Tale of Two Cities, Charles Dickens described the world of his novel: "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness… it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair…." Though published in 1859, his words are still playing out all around us. Prosperity exists alongside poverty, opulence next to squalor, productivity alongside wasteful negligence. Every month seems to bring another mass shooting in a place where people should be able to go about their business or leisure in safety. Zealots and extremists carry out acts of terrorism around the world with bloody regularity. Cultural rot is rampant in substance abuse, gender-bending, abortion on demand, the sexualisation of almost everything, and corruption at all levels of government and society. Political leaders, pointing fingers and attributing motives, cannot agree on anything productive. Social media often fan flames of hatred and acrimony. Many people are deeply troubled and anxiety ruins their quality of life. Far too many face the "winter of despair". How can one stay positive, upbeat, and cheerful in the midst of adversity? Is there a way to face such intractable problems yet not be overwhelmed by discouragement? Actually, there is - but not many find it because it is found in a book that most do not read or know much about. The way to peace of mind is found in the Bible.
True education must be based on the truth of God. All other foundations are ultimately worthless. (END)
