6. Permissive drug culture - the decline of morality and family

Just recently, due to a rise in permissiveness, we have seen an upswing in the legalizing of natural and synthetic drugs in most of the world. Marijuana is in the forefront of this societal shift, but once its legalization and use spreads, it will be easier to market more potent drugs as well.

There is also an enormous epidemic of opioids - drugs derived from opium, such as morphine and heroin - affecting the Western world as more synthetic drugs come on the market. At no time in known history has society had so much access through technology to so many hallucinogenic and addictive drugs. More governments are simply giving in to the popular demand to decriminalize their use, thus allowing widespread propagation and commercialization.

Ecclesiastes 8:11 states,

"When the sentence for a crime is not quickly carried out, the hearts of the people are filled with schemes to do wrong."

The reality is that when a young child does something wrong and is not punished, that child will be much more likely to repeat the act.

The present measures by such governments are not truly limiting the problem, but are allowing it to get worse.

Just as it was prophesied in 2 Timothy 3:13:

"While evil men and impostors will go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived."

We cannot expect false people to reform and change on their own. Left alone, they will go from bad to worse. There is the moral and ethical obligation of any social and law enforcement department of every government to make sure that they get corrected and in doing so to protect younger citizens.

We must not allow our society to distort or crowd out the eternal God's truth. The same truths that build up our lives. The same truths that strongly form the foundation of our moral and ethical values.

Someone once said, "Small deeds done are better than great deeds planned."

A lot of times we see things in the world that need to change, and we feel so small as a single person that we choose not to act on them. In actuality the change that this world needs to see comes from the small actions that we are willing to commit as a single person or even with a few people. Movements don't usually just happen overnight, and without taking the small steps that we need to take, we will never reach the bigger steps. It is better that we at least start to make the small steps towards a goal, rather than not take any steps at all.

So take action today to change what you want to see changed. Never be scared that doing what you can do won't be enough, because when you are scared enough you won't commit towards the goal at all.
